Shiatsu, which translates as "finger Pressure" is a deeply relaxing form of Japanese acupressure that works with the body's natural capacity for self healing.
Based on the holistic theory of Chinese Medicine, Shiatsu uses pressure and stretching on various parts of the body to rebalance the flow of Qi ( life energy).
This has a deeply therapeutic effect upon the body and mind, releasing tension from Joints and muscles, strengthening the internal organs, immune and nervous systems. In addition, shiatsu creates a deeply calming space for the receiver to slow down, restore balance and allow healing to take place.
A Shiatsu treatment is designed to meet your individual needs, starting with diagnosis and then hands on work using the practitioners palms, fingers, thumbs, knees and feet.
Treatments are conducted on a futon on the floor with the client full clothed (unless doing cupping) so please wear loose comfortable clothing.
