NT Beverages

NT Beverages Limited is a public, unlisted company that is building a bottled water plant facility in East Arm, Berrimah in the Northern Territory, with the Artesian limestone and quartz rock aquifer located in Acacia Hills, 50kms South of Darwin NT. The facility is being built at a total cost of $12.5 million and will open in February 2016.

This state of the art facility is ISO 9001, HACCP and 5 green star energy rated, operating on 65% solar power. It also has a full grey water system for internal sustainable use.

NT Beverages will make three key product lines to cover all markets of bottled water demand. This
includes a carbonated line to manufacture sparkling mineral waters in glass bottles. The brand ‘Akuna’
comes from the traditional Larrakeyah meaning “Flowing Water” and “The Way Forward” aptly named for a new bottled water operation, investing in the future – the Way Forward – of the Northern Territory.

NT Beverages will be managing two brands; Akuna Springs for the retail & bulk lines and Akuna Blue for the premium product lines. This separation of products by brand message is vital to engage consumers on the right level and to generate the right buying expectations.
