Michael began his riding career at the age of 4 at one of Canberra's riding schools, he then after 14 years at the riding school went freelance breaking and training horses.
At the age of 14yrs, Michael was introduced to the classical principles of Nuno Oliveira. Since then Michael has continued to study the teachings of Nuno Oliveira and others like him.
Michael has studied and trained extensively in the art of classical riding and horsemanship, and has the opportunity to have regular instruction from the Portuguese Master Miguel Tavora.
Michael also has spent time in Portugal with one of the country's' leading breeder and trainer of Lusitano horses Manual Jorge de Oliveira.
Michael hopes to share his passion and knowledge of the classical principles of riding through his horse training facilities. It is his hope that all horses and riders will have improved confidence and understanding through their time spent with Baroque Classical Horse Training.
