Let's Play Mud Kitchens

Our venture all started when my husband and I were on the hunt for something ‘unique and different’ for our young toddler. She was at the age where all she wanted to do was explore and do what kids do best, get dirty. We wanted something that allowed her to free play but at the same time to learn, create and most of all have fun. We did a little bit of research on some ideas and decided a Mud Kitchen was right up her alley.

So off to Bunnings we went with a rough plan and after a weekend of designing and building, we constructed a mud kitchen that we were super proud of.

From there we made some for our niece and nephews for Christmas and a number of our friend’s kid’s birthdays. We received a lot of positive feedback and we truly believe every kid should have one in their backyard.

Children learn best when they are outdoors and are connected to the natural environment. The Mud Kitchen provided our daughter with an outlet to be creative in her own way, explore with different natural materials and a place where she was allowed to make a mess!
