YUT HUNG KUNG FU ACADEMY

The Yut Hung Kung Fu Academy also incorporates Canberra Dragon Dance. We teach Chinese martial arts and practical self defence along with Chinese Dragon Dance to kids and teenagers ages 8-18 years in Canberra. Yee Kuen (Yi Quan) Kung Fu and Cheng style Ba Gwa are the principal styles taught with aspects of Wing Chun and Eskrima. Students learn strikes, Chinese Chin Na, grappling and weaponry. Classes consist of individual forms practice, partner drills, padwork and single and multiple opponent combat drills. We aim to not only teach self defence but also to help produce model citizens who can display the virtues of discipline, respect and compassion. Our physical lessons and complements by our online learning assisting students in their home practice and providing teaching on martial arts theory and Chinese culture and values.

Lessons are held regularly twice a week with optional extra weekend "Wolf Pack" sessions. Currently these extra sessions are for tuition in wushu and Dragon Dance. The regular lessons are held during school terms on Mondays and Thursdays 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm in the Combat Centre in Building 14 at the Australian Institute of Sport in Bruce, ACT. We also hold regular demonstrations at festivals such as the National Multicultural Festival and Floriade.
