The Youth Command focuses on the reduction and prevention of youth crime and anti-social behaviour through Case Management. The command, which comprises of approximately 120 police officers, is divided into seven zones on a geographic basis together with an administrative support zone based at state office.
Youth Command works in partnership with PCYC NSW (Police & Community Youth Clubs NSW) through a Deed of Agreement to provide services at 59 PCYCs located throughout New South Wales.
At the forefront of the service provided by Youth Command are Youth Case Managers (YCMs) who are responsible for preventing or reducing crime amongst young people through the Targeted Case Management framework, working from and utilising the resources of a Police & Community Youth Club (PCYC).
