About the practice:

Based on Kripalu Yoga (http://kripalu.org/), a form of hatha yoga, this style of yoga is for any body. Classes are suitable for beginners and intermediates.

The awareness you will discover during your class will carry you into your daily life. The lessons of your practice will take root in every aspect of your being. You will walk out of Your Yoga feeling more connected to yourself and others, more alive, and more aware.

About the teacher:
I am the founder of Your Yoga, Shawna Barber. I took my first yoga class in 1999 and it has been a touchstone for me ever since. I began my study of yoga in earnest at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in 2005, taking a variety of courses and studying with a variety of teachers. In 2007 I earned my 200 hour teaching certificate. Since then I have practiced on my mat, in my living room, back yard, bath tub, bed, while parenting, on airplanes, and more. For me, yoga has been a journey back to my Self. It has been an aid for depression and a teacher in mindfulness. In addition to my yoga training I undertook a course on breathwork and personal coaching in 2013 to expand my knowledge and life skills further. One of the greatest lessons I took from this course was taking full responsibility for my life and my own healing. I draw on both of these backgrounds to inform my teaching.
