Yoga and Thai Yoga Massage

My journey as a yoga teacher started in January 2011 when I began a 300 hour Sivananda teacher program with the Swami Vishnu Yoga Centre in Ontario, Canada. Our teacher was a traditional Indian Swami and the basis of the training was yogic philosophy and spiritual aspects of yoga. During this time I learnt that the physical practice of yoga is only a tiny portion of yoga. What a surprise this was! These concepts opened up a whole new world and I realised how much more I wanted to know. I have made a commitment to work on weaving these new principles and philosophy into my life and not only practice yoga regularly, but work toward living life in accordance with this philosophy and share my knowledge with others. Not as simple as it seems... The change in direction has been intense and the beginning of a life long journey of growth.

After I completed my training, I volunteered for the YMCA in Canada, teaching regular classes. On return to Australia, I decided to further my knowledge and completed a Vinyasa Flow advanced immersion, which is now the main focus of my teaching.

I am also a Thai Yoga Massage practitioner and have completed levels 1, 2 & 3 in Thai Yoga Massage. Thai Yoga Massage is practiced fully clothed on a floor mat. It combines assisted stretches, massage, acupressure, energy work and mediation. Thai Yoga Massage is the only therapy that applies massage and a stretch. Trained by Yoga Trinity in Canberra, Australia.

So far, the journey has been a life changing experience and find myself looking to learn more on this huge topic. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn daily from my students, friends and family.
