Cris grew up in Florianopolis, a gorgeous tropical island in South Brazil and she’s been living in Australia for the past 4 years. She is also a graduate chef and has worked in the food industry for well over 10 years, so she’s extremely passionate about creating healthy, delicious food – it was only a matter of time before she created something genius!
Along Cris’ culinary journey, she came to realize just how common food intolerances are among society today, and the growing demand for healthy food alternatives meant she would often substitute foods when it came to her cooking. So when her elders passed down a delicious whole-hearted recipe, of course she honored and respected its traditions, but she also felt the urge to re-create it – and that my friend, is how Yococream was born…
Cris created Yococream out of sheer serendipity one day when she was experimenting in her home kitchen, with a traditional Brazilian recipe that her mother in-law had introduced her to. She was in Brazil visiting family at the time, and when she returned home to Byron, she decided to make the Rice Milk recipe that her mother in-law had shown her. Upon doing so she added a few different ingredients, whilst taking others out and much to her surprise, she ended up with a completely different product. It was absolutely delicious, ultra creamy and super healthy! Cris was so excited with the heavenly bliss she had just created, that she decided she wanted to share it with the rest of the world. She’s been working long and hard perfecting the recipe ever since, and she is absolutely delighted to finally share the magic of Yococream, with you!
