Yarrunga Community Centre is a beautiful multi-purpose building located in Croydon Hills which opened in November 1996. The name means "beneath tall trees" and represents the importance of maintaining the natural environment in an area undergoing rapid urban development and evokes pictures of people meeting to share and learn in a friendly and welcoming place.
Since 1996 we have evolved into a vibrant and dynamic organisation that works in collaboration with community members to offer a diverse range of community talks, programs and self-facilitated interest groups. We provide learning and recreational activities for individual growth, link people together and are focused on seeing our community become stronger and a better place to live in.
Yarrunga Community Centre Inc. is a not for profit organisation and as such we strive to keep costs for all activities to a minimum whilst maintaining our financial viability. We lease our lovely building from Maroondah City Council, employ our own staff and are governed by a voluntary Committee of Management.
