More about Yalburu Photography

THE JOURNEY SO FAR

I have been interested in photography for a very long time, especially since I got my first digital camera back in 2000, a Canon Powershot S10.

Almost 6 years back when we were expecting our son I wanted to hire a photographer to capture some beautiful memories. Given my strong background in information technology I wanted to get access to the original un-edited photos from the camera as well.

This is primarily so that with technological advancement I would have the freedom to produce a better photo out of the original image file in future. Or at least to produce a digital photo that keeps up with the technological advances. To my utter disappointment I found that every single photographer I contacted refused to hand me over the full digital negatives.

As technologist I could never accept that. So I went ahead and purchased a Nikon DSLR and became my own photographer. As time went on I purchased other equipment (including studio lights) and started taking photography bit more seriously. The result is now I am happy to be a professional photographer who understands that clients want to have some control over their digital memories.

Today I want to change the way the photography is done.

CURRENT

I want to not only capture your precious moments but I want to also preserve it for the eternity. So you and your children and their descendants can have access to your precious photos.

We would not just give you the selected original unedited images (as well as fully processed ones), we would also preserve copies of your digital memories for the eternity using world-class state of the art technologies.

FUTURE

We are working with our technology partners to bring photography business to the next level. Please watch this space, announcements will soon follow.

WHAT'S IN THE NAME?

Yalburu means ‘happy’ in dialect spoken by local Yugambeh Bundjalung people. I wanted to choose a name that’s meaningful and recognises the first people of this land I live in. Also my name in my native language means being ‘happy’. So it was only appropriate to choose a name that means a lot to me :)
