Wonderland

Wonderland is less about ’managing artists’ and more about connecting Australian musicians with other musicians and live music venues.

After being quite involved in the independent music scene in Melbourne and the Surf Coast, trying to secure gigs for a friends band I was ‘managing’ (payment was beer), I noticed that many venues would not arrange lineups and it was up to the artists to arrange their own. Once in contact with a venue and a free date was offered, it was a mad rush to contact as many artists as possible, post in public forums and make a stupid amount of phone calls to try and tee up enough artists for a decent and promotable lineup. Even then, if, for some reason a band or artist had to pull out it was an epic task to find a replacement band that was free.

It was from all of these nail biting experiences that the concept of Wonderland was born. A music-invested project that connects artists to secure gigs by uniting together for the greater good of live music.
