More about Wollombi Valley Landcare

WVLG was formed on 1st March 1991 in response to the severe erosion in the upper catchment of the Wollombi Brook following the 1990 floods.

The group is affiliated with the Australia wide Landcare movement and typically meets on the 3rd Saturday of February, April, June, August and October and the 2nd Saturday in December to share information on land management issues.

Members elect a management committee each April. The number of financial members averages around 50, paying an annual subscription of $15.

Members receive our bi-monthly newsletter by email and post to promote events, workshops and other related activities and information. Email members receive information as we receive it. We also publish articles in the local newsletter, OON.

We run a Landholder Resources Stall at the Laguna Market (3rd Sunday) including a library of books. We have a fox trap and Hamilton Tree Planters (for tubestock) for members to borrow, and also have equipment for planting long-stem tubestock available for hire.

We liaise with district and regional agencies and focus on projects and activities that encourage the sustainable use of our natural resources.
