Without a Ribbon Inc

Established in the 2014 Financial Year, “Without a Ribbon” is a small rare cancer fund raising foundation established to assist those who are so small in numbers that they are not allocated a Ribbon through existing Cancer related Councils throughout the world.

Although the foundation will initially support patients diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC), other rare cancer patients will be offered the opportunity to join the foundation and be offered the same support.

“Without a Ribbon” management and Board will be established with the assistance of volunteers who do not suffer from ACC and who have viewed feedback provided by rare cancer sufferers. Those who have been diagnosed with ACC, also referred to as ADCC, remain, for the greater time, unsupported by the majority of Cancer Charities.

From the feedback by those diagnosed with rare cancer, the main support required appears to be:
- Support available when first diagnosed. Support links to online communities with your rare cancer, information regarding worldwide treatment options;
- Face to Face support with others who are going through the same journey within Australia to source information about treatment options and specialists available locally;
- Household support when undergoing treatment;
- Funding of flights when Trials become available overseas or to seek treatment not available within Australia.

To provide support in these areas the “Without a Ribbon Foundation” will embark on an intensive four year strategic planning process to raise funds at each level and the increase funding targets to encompass the next stage of funding.

Therefore we are initially looking for seed funding to assist with product purchase to start this process.
