Withers Art Studio

Hello all!

My name is Kelly Darragh and I am facilitating a couple of community arts projects through the City of Bunbury as part of my artist residency in Withers.

One project aims to yarn-bomb prominent trees along Hudson Road between the Withers Library and the Hudson Road Family Centre. All members of the community are invited to come along to weekly crafternoons to knit and crotchet jumpers for trees, and have lots of cups of tea and friendly chats in the process. Tree blankets require a lot of hands on deck, and the more trees that get a jumper the merrier Hudson Road is going to look :) Any donations of wool or crochet squares are gratefully accepted!

The second project is a series of 'biodiversity mandala' workshops. Over the course of five sessions, participants will celebrate local flora and fauna whilst learning to draw and paint in mandala style, and members of the community will also be invited to participate in mandala painting on a local community ping pong table. Dates for all workshops are listed on the flyer featured on this page.

Additionally, I will be opening the studio to the public 2-3 days per week. Everyone is invited! Come and work on the aforementioned projects, bring in a project of your own, or just swing by to see what all the hype is about!
