Wintergrove Education and Care Services are a community sector, not for profit, organisation. We aim to provide excellence in early childhood care and education by ensuring our centre is a welcoming, nurturing and safe environment that comprises a commitment to participative, consultative and collaborative management. Our philosophy has been developed in consultation with staff and families, and we welcome visits, ideas and suggestions.
At Wintergrove ECS, we are dedicated to the welfare of our environment by focusing on our appreciation of the natural environment and participating in sustainable living practices and recycling. We incorporate the Early Years Learning Framework principles of 'Being, Belonging and Becoming" and the National Quality Framework in all aspects of the centre. We are constantly looking for opportunities to improve, and understand that through this reflective process, our philosophy, environment, curriculum and knowledge will evolve and develop.
Being - 'childhood is a time to be, to seek and make meaning of the world'
Each child unique abilities and interests are what shape our program and our learning journey. Our aim is to tap into the innate curiosity of our children and let them be the leaders on our educational pathway. Exploring the interests of our children and discovering the world through their eyes, helps build their confidence and turns them into eager and inquisitive little people.
Belonging - 'children belong first to a family, friends, a culture, a neighbourhood and a community for future learning and development'.
When your child becomes part of our Centre, your family becomes part of our family!
We consider the relationships between your family and ours to be a primary part of a child’s growth and development. We aim for family involvement and open communication with an objective to work together to give your child a wholesome education drawing from the richness of your families culture and heritage.
Becoming - 'the incredible amount of learning that happen s in the first years of life builds the skill sets, the scene for becoming healthy, contributing adults to the complex world we live in'.
We strive to be mindful and present throughout the day so that each moment is one of learning, discovery and positive development. All activities including Crafts, story time, free play, outdoor play, food time, rest time and toileting are conducted with respect to ourselves, each other and the environment. We are constantly utilising each experience as a prospect to build the children’s self-esteem and confidence.
We believe that every situation has an opportunity for positive learning and we strive to turn all activities and circumstances into learning experiences for the staff and children at our centre.
