Winter Hills Livestock is 35km's south east of Glen Innes. Dennis McIntyre, the founder, learnt his trade on his fathers and his Uncle Burt Williamson's cattle properties at Pinkett, south east of Glen Innes. Whilst having mixed results with the breaking and training of horses using 'old school methods' he dedicated countless hours to the study of horse genetics and training methodologies. During his teens Dennis earnt the nickname 'Danrelli' because of his natural abilities to communicate with horses in a gentle manner whilst still being able to obtain the results required in the performance arena. After suffering some severe injuries off of a bronc he took a leave of absence from horses whilst helping build a very successful corporate brand in Education and Property.
Dennis has now settled with his wife back in the Pinkett district and is engaged in the breeding and training of performance horses. He believes in breeding sound minded horses with good physical attributes that have a proven track record of success at the highest levels.

Dennis uses natural methods combined with specific strategies aligned to the owners particular needs for the horse. All horses are well fed and looked after during the breaking in period to make it as stress free as possible and allow the horses mind to be trained and educated. Cues will be placed on the horse for everything that it is required to do. Rather than use force and fear to get the horse to act in accordance with man's wishes, Dennis uses natural methods that rely on understanding the horse and helping the horse to understand the human so that a partnership can be formed enabling success and pleasure at any discipline.
