West Brisbane Falcons Basketball Club

The West Brisbane Falcons Club Committee welcomes you to the West Brisbane Falcons family. We use the term “family” because that is truly the nature of this Club.

Club Information
West Brisbane Falcons Basketball Club caters for junior players of all standards and senior players from the Centenary Suburbs to Forest Lake/Karana Downs, Graceville, Darra and west of Brisbane from Indooroopilly outwards. The club plays in competitions run by Brisbane Basketball Inc. and fields teams from U/9s to U/19s.

Aims & Values of the Club
The foundation aim of the Club is to provide the opportunity for both boys & girls to learn the skills necessary to play basketball at the highest level of which they are capable. We also seek to instil in our players an appreciation of fair sportsmanship and the adoption of responsible attitudes towards their fellow team members, coaches, managers and the Club as a whole. Most importantly we embrace the notion that playing basketball should be fun.

Under 9s play in a non-competitive spirit with the emphasis being on introducing young players to basketball in an enjoyable and supportive environment. As a club, we want to encourage our Under 9s to enjoy playing and at the same time to develop a sense of team spirit and responsibility. In Under 11s to Under 19s, we aim to provide an environment in which players can develop their skills and are encouraged to play at their full potential. Teams are therefore graded on the basis of each player’s skills, behaviour and commitment to training & playing.
