A Boiler Maker and a Tragic Creative. Say hello to the Weldz End team – Damien and Claire!

What started as a personal project to provide a durable, functional and on-trend outdoor table has turned into a passion and a full-time business for the Weldz End team.

2013 saw it all begin when Damien and Claire were unable to find an outdoor setting that would meet their desire for furniture that screamed “industrial chic meets durability” with the added need to be able to meet the demands of eight children (think playdough, paint, scratches, and a whole lotta dirt!) Everything affordable on the market, while great straight out of the box, just wasn’t able to hold up to the demands of their family.

“Let’s just make one” Claire suggested to Damien and an idea came to life. The U leg rusty finish Oregon table. It was by all means a one off. Heavy. A test run. But beautiful and functional.

A house move saw the decision made to sell the table on Gumtree rather than try to move it to the new family home, so an ad was placed on Gumtree. Boom! 1200 views, hundreds of messages and phone call enquires about the table within 24 hours made Damien and Claire sit up and take notice. Was this something that people wanted in their homes? It seemed the answer was yes and Weldz End was born.

Business boomed and Claire and Damien refined their original U-Leg table and added new designs to their catalogue of products to include bar tables, shelving and pot-plant stands to name a few.

Three years on, Weldz End has expanded beyond Damien and Claire’s wildest dreams and here they are today – working full-time on the business, going full steam ahead with their vision and they couldn’t be happier. Taking the plunge and deciding Weldz End was a business, not a hobby has been the best decision the duo could have made. With quiet days a thing of the past, the orders are rolling in as are the ideas for new products. The possibilities are endless. Watch this space!
