Wauchope Preschool Kindergarten Inc.

Wauchope Preschool Kindergarten opened in 1972 to give children in the community access to a Preschool education. The centre is a not-for-profit organisation, co-managed by a committee made up of parents & a University trained Early Childhood Teacher / Director.

Each classroom has a highly experienced University trained Early Childhood Teacher responsible for the program planning & children’s ongoing learning. Educators who hold either a Diploma or a Certificate III in Children’s Services qualification also assist in each room.

We believe that preschool is about love, friendship, peace, learning, beliefs, kindness, & respect in a safe, clean & trusting environment.

Children learn best through supportive relationships with educators, feeling valued & cared for with a strong sense of belonging & opportunities to just be, & to become their best individual selves.

We provide fun, stimulating, educational programs that are enhanced through varied learning experiences including those that involve interactions with the natural environment.

We believe children should acquire skills & knowledge at an appropriate level that supports successful transition to formal schooling & lays foundations for life- long learning!

Our educators aim for best practice & commitment to the Early Years Learning Framework /Curriculum & the National Quality Early Childhood Standards, providing awareness & understanding of other cultures, customs & beliefs – increasing tolerance & respect.

We encourage families & their children to visit the preschool.
