The aim of the Western Australian Special Interest Group is to conduct meetings for members of the Society who have an interest in Western Australian Family History that is not covered by other WAGS Special Interest Groups.
The group has been set up to give family historians the opportunity to share and increase their knowledge on the many other areas of Western Australian history that other groups do not cover.
Those immigrants who were 10 pound poms, group settlers, child migrants, or who arrived during the gold rush or after the 1st and 2nd World Wars.
The group will be looking into those specialised areas of Western Australia history such as Aboriginals, Chinese or European descent, those ancestors who may have lived in Orphanages, spent time in Asylums or Hospitals, records on Navy, Army, Air Force personnel, Police, Nurses or Teachers.
