Van Diemen Fencing Club - Fencing in Tasmania

We are one of two Tasmanian fencing clubs. Established by Avery Holderness-Roddam in early 2011, VDFC has become Tasmania's prime club for Epee and Foil fencers, and now offers coaching in all three weapons.
Coach Avery Holderness-Roddam has trained and won medals both nationally and over-seas. He has trained in London and Milan and uses coaching techniques he acquired while in Europe.

Coach Karina Halys grew up training in Germany and now shares her extensive knowledge with students here at VDFC.

Justin Derksen supports Avery and the club by sharing his vast skills and assisting with the coaching of weekly Duke of Edinburgh fencing classes.

The club's goals are to keep the sport fun, while providing further training for both social fencers and those who compete.

VDFC runs social events, camps, classes, parties, tasters and demonstrations.
