What does it mean to be — and make — leaders in sustainability science? It means merging humanities with science, natural science with social science, and knowledge with practice. It means caring more about finding solutions to urgent human and ecological needs than about assigning blame for problems. It means including rather than dividing — in the dorms, in the classroom, and in our approach to the world. Unity College educates the next generation of environmental professionals and leaders to successfully face real-world challenges. With 17 environmentally focused majors, our liberal arts curriculum is built upon a unique framework of sustainability science — the first of its kind in the nation. Our active and engaged students and outstanding, forward-thinking faculty make true community-based learning possible. We also sit in the middle of three climate zones, providing special opportunities for experiential learning and original research as well as a great jumping-off point for outdoor activities, with hiking, camping, skiing, hunting, canoeing, and more all within easy access from campus.
