Amanda and Julia met in 2011 when Julia moved next door, it was a friendship that flourished as they both realised they had kids with similar issues. When they joined forces and shared their vast experience with each other, both of their worlds changed. It has always been a dream of theirs to one day help other parents and children, they both learnt so much and supported each other through the ups and downs. It has always been there passion to learn and educate themselves in this area, this is how UniqueKids was born.

Amanda is a qualified Early Childhood Teacher (0 to 6 yrs) and has been working with children for 18 years. She has also had a lived experience for the past 12 years with her own child who has Autism/Anxiety and learning difficulties. It is her hope to help and inspire other families who are beginning or are already on their journey. Amanda also has tertiary qualifications in Youth Work and Disabiity.

Julia has 20 years experience working with and caring for her own her own 4 children all with varying diagnoses ranging from ASD/Aspergers/ADHD and the secondary anxiety issues that stem from this. She also established a business in Hong Kong in 2005 that focused on early childhood development and intervention for Special Needs Children. Coupled with her extensive experience Julia also has tertiary qualifications in Youth Work and Disability.

UniqueKids is a unique service that offers support to help and educate parents of children with additional needs. We also offer individual and group programs for Children and Youth that need some extra skill development. We have over 20 years experience dealing with issues associated with:

It all becomes too much sometimes and you need someone to talk to, someone who knows what it is like to face judgement and can help you to be the best advocate and parent that you can be for your child. To know it's ok to get frustrated and that we all need a helping hand.
