True Australian Journey Pty Ltd. is a unique organisation that has over several years developed a number of programs in conciliation with local Aboriginal Community that can provide educational opportunities for our local Aboriginal Community in training, employment and also provide positive outcomes in our natural environment and Aboriginal education for the broader community.

True Australian Journey Programs

- adhere to all safety procedures and policy that is in keeping with NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and Workcover WHS Policies

-Provide appropriate training and instruction to facilitate a safe and productive work and learning environment to all staff including working with children checks and first aid certificates

-Provide qualified Aboriginal people education in Land and soil conservation and Aboriginal Education by qualified people

-School Programs Visits and Bush Tours- delivered by Terry Jordan

Program 1 Central Coast Primary Schools Year 1 - 5

Program
Aboriginal Art Workshops in schools on the central coast. Workshops are based on the Aboriginal Flag its colours and the history behind what it represents to Aboriginal Communities.

Public School Visits

Duration: 1.5 hours x 3 = 4.5 hours

Outcome of Program
The most successful tool for Aboriginal children is empowerment, leadership and cultural identity to create a holistic appreciation of culture through the wellness of the young and to inform them of community spirit. By utilizing art as an expression of their own creativity and imagination to develop a sense of belonging.

Program 2 Central Coast Primary School Excursion

Program
1.5 hour Native plants, bush tucker and bush medicine walk through Central Coast National Parks and discussion

Outcome of Program
Education on native plants and the significance of what it means and to learn more about our ancestor’s ways, bringing into the now and how the effects of lost identity affect our young and how this relationship will involve both personal development and technical skills based participation in community life. Environmental education is the forefront of diversity and understanding how we as Aboriginal people come together in mutual agreement and understanding of belief systems and the importance also of our values system.

Program 3 Central Coast High Schools

Program
2 hour Native plants, bush tucker and bush medicine walk through Central Coast National Parks and discussion

Outcome of Program
Utilizing bush tucker, native plants discussions involving all students in acknowledgement of Country and the respect that comes with the understanding of our mutual agreements and duty of care to each other under the provision of WHS applications before each walk is started.

Program 5 Visit High Schools Reconciliation Week

Outcome
All students are able to develop an appreciation of Aboriginal identity and experiences – an appreciation which acknowledges and addresses racism existing in Australian Society and promotes inclusiveness.

Program 6 NSW Public & High School Overnight Excursions

Day 1
- Budget accommodation
- 2 hour native plants, bush tucker, bush medicine walk through Central Coast National Park
- 60 minute visit to Cultural site
- 60 minute Talks/discussions
- 60 minute Bush tucker tasting

Day 2 options
- Australian Reptile Park – educational tour
