Treasure Chest Charity

Currently a woman who has her breasts removed because she has cancer or has a genetic risk of developing breast cancer has a considerable wait until she can have a breast reconstruction. Breast reconstruction is a very low priority in the public health system. The Treasure Chest Charity is seeking to decrease the waiting time for breast reconstruction in partnership with the Royal Women's and Royal Melbourne Hospitals. We are also looking at the whole woman and her needs after such a life changing diagnosis and how she copes with all the other aspects like losing her hair, needing nipple tattooing, counselling, easy to read information brochures and any other such needs as required by the Shared Breast Services of the Women’s and Royal Melbourne Hospital.
