The Wombat Hole Studio

I still remember the first time I went into a studio to record, it was exciting yet at the same time terrifying! My band was well rehearsed and we cut 10 live tracks that I still listen to every couple of years. Those memories and that old tape are precious so I know where you are at.

Maybe you are wanting to make your first recording or maybe you are just looking for an intimate place to do your next recording? Whichever is the case The Wombat Hole Studio is perfect for you!

The Wombat Hole is a small Studio operated by me, local singer/songwriter Jamie Fletcher. I have many years experience writing, performing and recording and understand that capturing creativity requires a supportive and nurturing atmosphere as well as technical know how and a bit of kit.

Originally conceived in 2007 as a space in which to rehearse and record my own projects the studio has evolved over time. With several equipment and software upgrades the studio is now an ideal space for musicians to capture their performances and create.

Although I am not a record company I can assist if required with production and arrangement as well as offer advice on how to tackle the hurdles associated with releasing your music.

The studio has a live room that is approximately 6m x 5m which is great for recording drums. The separate control room can also be used to isolate one performer from another during recording.

I record digitally using Presonus interfaces and software allowing 16 independent tracks to be recorded simultaneously. There is no limit to the number of tracks that can the added to a project with many of my projects using 30 to 40 tracks. These I mix down to a stereo master or I can provide you with high resolution wav files for mixing and mastering elsewhere.

I also do simple music videos for my own songs and could be persuaded to make one for you but lets get the music down first!
