The Willow

The Willow is a unique Australian owned retailer, offering a collection of bespoke and handcrafted butterfly domes, cabinets and frames.

The inspiration came 5 years ago on a trip to the Paris Markets…wandering through the cobbled pathways I happened upon a stall full of antique butterfly domes and was floored. I had never seen butterfly domes before and was so overwhelmed by their beauty I literally gasped and stopped in my tracks. I felt utterly compelled to create some pieces when I returned home.

And create I did. My domes have since been featured in selected publications (M2 Magazine NZ, Home and Garden Magazine NZ, Denizen Magazine NZ, NZ Herald Newspaper) stocked in the most high end stores in Auckland NZ, and can be glimpsed in the occasional Lazy Boy ad !

5 years on, The Willow is a totally family run and owned business based in Brisbane Australia. I am now a mum of two, working from my home studio along with my friend Sally Van Zutphen. We are a team that truly enjoys creating high-end, niche and stunningly beautiful products.

We bring you quality not quantity and in doing so we can ensure our customer service and quality of product is maintained at the highest of levels, something we are very proud of.

Each piece takes weeks to carefully handcraft. We source our materials locally and pride ourselves on creating unique statement pieces. We also offer a bespoke custom made service allowing us to create exciting and completely one of a kind pieces to suit customers' specific requirements.
