More about The Shaw Davey Slum

The name The Shaw Davey Slum is a play on words, based around the poverty report in 1958 written by two commissioners named Shaw and Davey; known as the windscreen survey (because they didn't get out of their cars) to demolish areas known as the "slums".

The Slum has an retractable rooftop (open Friday & Saturday from 5pm); 36 gold plated cricket stump beer taps; a cocktail list representing our interpretation of the traditional 1960's milk-bar candy selection; a full service dining room focused on unique Australiana flavours, styled with traditional Australian bush spices.

The Slum is about providing incredible value for money in a unique environment. We pride ourselves on being able to deliver fantastic value for money every hour of the day.

We’re also happy to tell you that you can take some slum home with you, our Bottle-o is perfectly located on your way out with a small selection of wine and bottle beer to take home.

Our food menu is a small taste of things to come. Featuring native Australian bush herbs and ingredients with inspiration from the golden age of Australia, the 1960s.
