The Paddocks Centre

The Paddocks Centre has been part of the Para Hills Community for more than 30 years. Opened in 1980 it is one of a number of Community Centres within the City of Salisbury and is a hub of activities for local (and, at times, not so local) residents. The Centre provides many learning and social opportunities including educational courses, personal development workshops, health and fitness and craft programs as well as providing space for community groups, organisations and activities.

The Centre provides a chance for individuals to meet people in their local area, make new friends, learn new skills, and develop networks of support and care that extend beyond the walls of the Centre and contribute to the well-being of the community.

Up to 40 volunteers at any one time assist within the Centre, covering roles in reception/administration roles, finance, tutors, maintenance and garden to name a few. This includes not only those who are retired but also those who are looking to enhance skills to gain employment, etc.

- Adult community education - including literacy program, English conversation group, computer classes, personal development and health awareness courses
- Arts and crafts
- Low cost community lunches
- Meeting/activity space
- Office facilities - photocopying, fax, internet
- Recreation - including physical fitness
- Volunteer work - office, conducting various programs
