The Ned Kelly Vault Museum, Beechworth

Love him or loathe him, Edward 'Ned' Kelly (c1854-1880) has had an immeasurable impact on Australia's history and popular culture.

A controversial figure in life and death, Kelly has inspired painters, singers, artists, actors and authors for well over 130 years. In fact there have been more books written and more films produced about Kelly than any other figure in Australian history.

In conjunction with Ned Kelly Adventure Tours & School Camps, and Indigo Shire Council, The Ned Kelly Vault helps tell the incredible Kelly saga through an amazing collection of artefacts, images and documents.

Australia's most significant Ned Kelly Museum, the Ned Kelly Vault, showcases changing displays from the world's largest private collection of Kelly artefacts and associated memorabilia, as well as pieces from public collections.

The Ned Kelly Vault is now also home to Sir Sidney Nolan's final Kelly painting, 'Shot', from 1991.
