The Mat 4020

“The Mat 4020″on the Redcliffe peninsula is a concept training facility that caters for those who wish their exercise experience to go beyond the realms of the normal work out, basic movement and lifting grind the average gym.

When you attend an exercise session at “The Mat 4020” you will always leave having learned something new and rewarding which will benefit both your mind and your body.

You will not find loud pumping music over speakers or in the ears of someone trying to make it through another hour of boredom on an exercise machine nor will you find judgmental ego’s parading in-front of mirrors. What you will find is a family oriented like minded group of people on a physical education journey.

The Mat 4020 is owned and run by Peter Phillips.

Operating his own BJJ and Yoga studio (“The Mat 4020”) on the Redcliffe peninsula Peter has been a lifelong practitioner of martial arts. He has learned, practiced and taught different striking and grappling styles for over 30 years. Peter has had success as a Kick Boxing, MMA and Muay Thai trainer and has focused his martial learning on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 10 years. Peter has a very methodical and practical approach to teaching, with a great passion for his students particularly where their success in achieving personal goals is concerned.

Peter also is an experienced level 3 Rugby coach having worked with players from first time juniors to premiere grade adults and consequently he is the founder of “Power2Play” a company that specialises in tackle tech, collision dynamics and contact safety.

Due to his involvement in teaching, coaching and training a diverse range of sports he is able to cater to a broad range of ages, abilities and personalities. His thoroughness with preparation and follow up is second to none with regards to safety both in and out of the field of play whatever the game is.

The Mat 4020 is brand new facility that offers excellences in all of the disciplines on offer.
