The Hughes Gallery

The Hughes Gallery has three main departments:
Contemporary Australian promotes the work of the represented stable of artists and in painting and sculpture.
Modern Australian are our secondary-market holdings of works by living and past Australian artists of note.
International is a broad department dealing with Contemporary art from Africa, China and the United States of America. It also houses holdings of German Expressionist art.


Artists' Submissions

The preferred method of submission is by email to bridget@thehughesgallery.com with attached .jpeg or .pdf files. Please include a CV and short artist statement. Please no powerpoint. All submissions made in this way will be answered within 7 days where a director is available to review the work. We apologise that submissions not made in this way can not be guaranteed feedback. Walk-ins are welcome but it is always nice to get a quick phone heads up.

Intern Applications

The Hughes Gallery offers internship positions to young, energetic individuals with an interest in Australian and International Art. Please feel free to send applications to bridget@thehughesgallery.com with a cv and short statement. We offer positions to University and Art School students on a one/two day a week basis. Currently all positions are filled.
