The Creatress

Linda started her creative teaching journey after completing a BFA in Painting and a DipEd in Visual Art and History. Throughout her teaching career, Linda has worked with children of vary ages and abilities. In 2005, she developed a Sensory Art program at a Special development school and discovered the benefits of Creative Arts therapy. Linda completed further study in Transpersonal Art therapy in 2009. Along the way she has explored and researched Eastern philosophy and Oriental therapies, in particular Chinese medicine. She is inspired to share her insights into health and well being using Art and her recent training in Qigong and Shiatsu.

Linda commenced practising and studying Qigong in 2013. Since then, she has been a dedicated student of Margaret Wyatt, assisting at workshops and retreats. Linda completed Opensky Qigong training in 2014. In 2016, she started facilitating classes in Mill park. This year, she is teaching a class at the Australian Shiatsu College in Brunswick, where she will further study Oriental therapies.

What is Qigong?

Qi gong is a practice based on the ancient theory of Chinese Medicine. Most people are familiar with acupuncture to relieve muscle tension, the treatment of fine needling on particular points in the body. The points are aligned with energy circuits that run through the body, supporting the function and health of organs. When there is tension in the body, it obstructs the flow of energy and blood to our organs, resulting in illness.

In the practice of Qigong, participants are guided through mindfulness breathing exercises, gentle stretches, Accupressure and guided meditation to support the body and mind to become relaxed and still. This process supports the flow of energy and blood throughout the body, increasing its potential to restore and heal.
