The Emporium

Four almost five years, Renew Newcastle projects turned the ground floor of the former David Jones building – the city’s most iconic retail location – into a fine arcade of boutiques and galleries filled with Newcastle creative talent, just waiting to be explored.

Renamed The Emporium, this treasure trove of locally made art, fashion, furniture & design opened in November 2012. In 2017, it bowed gracefully from its role of bringing activity and creativity to the mall to make way for redevelopment of the building.

It was a launchpad for many of the businesses to take on commercial leases elsewhere in the city. Visit our website for more information.
