The Empire Barber Lounge

In 1977 a young Italian man decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and join in the family’s barbering business. His journey saw him build many Barbering businesses with his family in the Western Suburbs of Sydney, on the premise that the old school Italian Barbering values of perfect Style and class intermingled with the knowledge that Men’s grooming is more than just a haircut, saw them reach many heights. His knowledge, passed down from 3 generations, of the lost art of shaving and grooming led him to successfully continue his passion 40 years on.

During this time on the other side of the world, a Greek bus driver in the UK had the dream of becoming a Barber. In between his shifts driving buses he spent every waking minute honing his skills and perfecting his craft. When his bus was stopped at lights, he would be seen pulling out a comb and a pair of scissors, practicing his technique until it was nothing but perfection.

Together with their extensive knowledge, experience, skill and passion an idea was born. That idea is what we know now as the Empire Barber Lounge.

For the Barbers at the Empire Barber Lounge, Barbering is not just a job or a skill, it is a passion that is instilled into each and every one of us that grace her floor. Reviving the lost art of Barbering is a goal that has finally been achieved on the Sunshine Coast.
