Planning to go away for the holidays but don’t know what to do with your pets? This vet-recommended local business has the answer!
The Critter Sitter has been providing loving, home-based care to the Hunter’s pampered pooches and coddled cats since 2005.
And the service is not just for traditional four legged friends; the expert Critter Sitter team tends to all creatures great and small – from horses and fish to all manner of reptiles and birds.
Founder and chief Critter Sitter Michelle Earl says a lifelong love of animals motivated her to start her award-winning business ten years ago.
“I have been around animals my whole life and I know even a short break can be stressful for some pets who are very attached to their humans and their routines,” says Michelle.
“The unfamiliarity of a kennel or boarding house can compound that stress, and that’s the unique selling point of our service because it allows pets to stay in their own homes and be walked around their own neighbourhoods where they feel safe and comfortable.”
Michelle says to ensure customers’ peace of mind all Critter Sitters are not only dedicated animal lovers, they are also fully vetted and qualified, all with TAFE accreditations in pet care, full insurance and police checks.
“It’s important our customers feel confident that the people they are letting into their homes to care for treasured furry or feathered family members are responsible and qualified,” says Michelle.
“We have options available to care for elderly or sick animals – we’re happy to make multiple home visits to make sure medications are administered on schedule and to ensure the wellbeing of precious pets.”
The Critter Sitter services on offer include:
• Feed and clean: daily feed plus clean yard, litter tray, or cage.
• Professional visit: feed and clean services plus mail collection, bins put out or in, plants watered, and security check.
• House sitting: overnight stay from 7pm to 7am plus professional visit services.
• Extra daily visits: recommended for elderly, sick, or younger animals especially during the warmer months.
• Dog walking: for those who work long hours and want to ensure their dog gets a 35 – 45min walk.
• Resort care: hourly pet care for visitors that want to ensure four footed family members are walked, patted and cuddled, brushed, watered and fed.
• Event care: hourly pet care that allows pet owners the peace of mind that their pet is cared for while they’re out having fun.
• Wedding care: for clients wishing to have their pet cared for prior, during, and after their wedding.
