The Cottage

The Gypsy cottage is a romantic B&B perched on the edge of a hill surrounded by sweeping countryside views. Sit outside and enjoy the view, soak in the bath or relax by the fire, the choice is yours.

The Gypsy Cottage includes one bedroom with a queen size bed, a bathroom with a claw foot bath and shower, a well equipped kitchen, BBQ, laundry including washing machine and dryer and living area with a wood heater for those chilly winter nights. There is also a sofa bed to accommodate another 2 guests.

Included in your stay is a bottle of wine and a breakfast hamper including delicious ingredients for a cooked breakfast and fresh fruit. The cottage also has some basic provisions such as oil, salt, tea and coffee etc.

Fri, Sat, Sun $350 for a 2 night stay
Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs $300 for a 2 night stay
Sun & Mon or Thurs & Fri $325 for a 2 night stay

So, here we go! This is the 'start' of our journey. Matt and I had always contemplated opening a 'Bed and Breakfast', we lived in such a beautiful location in a secluded area that was very peaceful and quiet, so, when we decided one beautiful day when the Jacaranda trees were clothed in a swathe of purple masses and their petals started to rain down upon us that it would be an awesome place to build a bed and breakfast, (that was our idea sitting there under the Jacaranda tree one spring afternoon with a glass of wine in hand) and from that day we have been planning and dreaming, collecting and designing! We have 100 acres of beautiful high country up in the hills of Rosewood, some call this "Gods Country", it provides some of the most beautiful views in South East Queensland, and we feel privileged to own a little slice of it. This land has been in my family for 4 generations, a rare gift indeed.
Im a romantic, Matt, well? what can I say, he has some good ideas at times!

Our intention was to create a 'Romantic, Gypsy style Cottage" filled with antiques sumptuously decorated in shabby chic/ country style furnishings that make you feel like its your own home when you walk in, everything we have collected over the years will be crafted into a beautiful setting where you can enjoy the beautiful location and enjoy the peace and serenity of the "Gypsy Cottage".
The conditions of us building this are fairly simple:
We must not exceed $150,000 in total, including furnishings.
Everything must be, revamped, recycled, nothing can be bought 'brand new'.
All local tradespeople only allowed.
And Im going to help build it!!! with the help of our trusty builder! Ben Abraham, AKA.....Rooster!
