Psychosocial competence is a person’s ability to deal with the challenges and demands of everyday life. It is the ability to maintain a state of mental well-being and to demonstrate this in adaptive and positive behaviour while interacting with others, one’s culture and the environment.
The combination of psychosocial competence and somatic education becomes tangible in the core set of values that underpin every activity delivered by TESSA. We call this The Code and its 4 key values:
Strength
In the body, mind and heart. Based on the benefits of physical, psychological and emotional health.
Tranquility
To believe in yourself and to be able to make choices under pressure. This is the real demonstration of strength
Kindness
Towards yourself, others and the environment. Linked to the values of respect and responsibility.
Effort
Because effort is the currency of success.
Because the combination of physical activities, storytelling and experiential learning, the TESSA programs can be of particular benefit for those individuals who struggle to learn in more traditional or academically oriented ways.
