In terms of innovation, Tommotek's pedigree in the development of computerized motion control can be traced back to the early 1980s when the company began designing and building custom solutions for manufacturing in Ottawa, Canada.

In 1988 Tommotek relocated to Australia, introducing its first Tekcel CNC routing system to the market in 1992. The machine is still producing signs today.
