More about Tarragon Lodge

Tarragon Lodge is located at Picnic Point, Mathoura just 30 minutes north of Echuca Moama. It is a popular holiday park set on 136 acres with 1 km of absolute Murray River frontage. This gateway to a natural wonderland is completely surrounded by the Moira State forest, with Milewa forest to the north and the Barmah Forest positioned just across the river. The majestic river red gum forest is home to an abundance of native animals and bird-life for you to experience.

The park has 114 privately owned cabins, with new sites available. All cabins boast magnificent views of the mighty Murray or the canal surrounding the 9 hole golf course. These holiday cabins are self-contained and available for purchase with annual site fees, or for private hire through existing cabin owners.

Boating, bushwalking, birdwatching and water sports are some of the area’s main attractions. Fishing is also a popular activity, with the Mathoura Fishing Classic being held each year at Tarragon Lodge early in March. This event draws fishing enthusiasts from throughout the nation and is held to raise funds to restock the rivers with native fish, whilst also providing entrants with the opportunity to experience a great family event in a fantastic location. Smaller adjoining rivers such as the Edwards and the Gulpa creek are located nearby, providing great opportunity to find your secret fishing spot. A boat ramps is available to set your tinny afloat and cruise the waters in search of that next big catch.

In May 2015 the park was purchased by new owners, Mick and Debbie Humphreys. Their whole family will contribute to the future vision of establishing it as a place that you, and others will want to come to and enjoy as they have done for the last 10 years.
