Tamworth Marsupial Park

Tamworth Marsupial Park is a FREE ENTRY Family Park (not a zoo), in a natural bush setting, just 2klms from the town CBD. The Park is totally maintained and upgraded by a small band of friendly, dedicated and passionate volunteers. Maintenance and upgrading of the Park is totally funded by visitor donations, sponsorships and successful applications for funding from government bodies.
Marsupial Park has a small selection of mainly native bird and animal exhibits to delight and educate people of all ages and nationalities.
Some of our birds are just delightful vocal entertainers and will literally 'make your day!'.
Our little duck 'Willie' is the tour guide of the Free Flight Aviary, and he takes his job very seriously. He loves children and will most times meet and greet them at the aviary entrance.
There are covered picnic areas, free gas barbeques and private bush picnic areas throughout the Park. There is a huge Adventure Playground that was built by around a 1000 volunteers from the community over 6 days in mid-2015.
The Park is a very popular place for local and out of town schools to bring their students for environmental studies.
Birthday parties for children are also a regular occurrence.
The Park is also a haven for wild animals and birds which are regularly photographed by avid wildlife photographers and the local Birdwatchers Club. Kangaroos, Lace Monitors, echidnas, possums, carpet pythons, and more, call the Tamworth Marsupial Park their home. We prefer the local wildlife to live 'free' in the Park rather than putting them in enclosures, by providing them with safe suitable 'Habitat for Wildlife' areas. Look out for these areas as you walk around the Park.
