Sydney Ruqyah

Ruqyah is a form of Islamic healing. Ruqyah was performed by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and many of his companions.

Generally, ruqyah involves reciting certain verses from the Quran and/or duas (supplications) taught to us by the Messenger of Allah (pbuh). There are several duas one can make that can be used for healing.


I believe it’s important to note that anyone can perform Ruqyah. You do not have to be a sheikh or scholar to do this. However there are specific guidelines and rules to become a "Raqi" and one must be aware of these when getting Ruqyah recited on them by someone or wanting to be a Raqi themselves. Since Allah inclines to reward His righteous servants, it is best that Ruqyah is done by a righteous Muslim, and that one understands what they’re saying.

It is ESSENTIAL that one puts their complete trust in Allah when making Ruqyah. If you go into this having doubt, or not completely sure, you’re bound to be unsuccessful. That’s because Ruqyah is about faith; not science. It is seeking Allah’s help and knowing that He will give you what’s best.

Additionally,some of the people that come to see us may be on specific medications prescribed to them by their DR's. Though you may use medicine in conjunction with ruqyah it is important to let us know prior to your ruqyah session as it may have some numbing effect on the person.

It is very important to remember that it is Allah alone that allows the medicine or the ruqyah to work. The medicine does not work in and of itself. If Allah wills for the person to get shifah then he will do so when he has decreed it.

Remember, in the end, it is mostly about putting your trust in Allah.
