The CD is a product of many years in the aquatic industry teaching, researching, composing and testing songs that promote aquatic skill the gentle, gradual and age appropriate way.

The songs are composed with the utmost respect for young children’s ability to appreciate rhythm and rhyme without being unnecessarily simplistic. Each song’s atmosphere reflects the activity practiced so the overall mood shifts between serious and light in a way that confirms the aquatic environment as being a place of fun and pleasure but also potential danger if entered into without preparation and supervision.

Most young children are fond of music and sing without inhibition.

This enthusiasm can be harnessed to achieve learning outcomes as Singing and swimming have much in common:

✓Singing develops lung capacity important for buoyancy and endurance.

✓Swimming effectively requires rhythm, pattern and coordination.

Teachers, parents grandparents and children alike will enjoy the Swim in Tune CD and it is my hope that safety messages absorbed into memory through song will help prevent accidents, promote safe behavior and facilitate non panic responses to difficult or life threatening situations.
