OUR BUILDING

Sugarcane Thai Restaurant is situated at 268 Park Street South Melbourne on the corner of Perrins Street, just down from the beautiful South Melbourne Town Hall.

The building is Heritage listed circa 1870. It is clean, charming and has lots of character. Owners Peter and Tina Warren have taken what has been a long time successful local Thai restaurant and added a touch of North East Thai authenticity to the already vast and popular menu.

FUNCTION ROOM

Sugarcane is relaxed, romantic but can also be great for large bookings. Our second level has a Private and Function Room that seats 26 people for that special night out with family, friends or work colleagues. And if you want to be alone with just a few close friends, we have the perfect table next to our bar and fire place that sits 6-8 people.

MENU

All dishes at Sugarcane Thai are carefully prepared using only the best and freshest ingredients available. Our extensive menu is suited to the novice in Thai culinary as well as the more familiar with authentic North East Thai dishes.

GLUTEN FREE

For those customers that have special dietry requirements most of our dishes can be made with Gluten Free ingredients. Our waiting staff are happy to help with any special needs.

WINE, SPIRITS AND BEER

We have a range of popular spirits along with local and imported beers and wines at reasonble prices, but if you have that special bottle of wine that you would like to bring, we welcome BYO (wine only) at a charge of $6 per bottle.

CHEF

Tina Warren – Growing up in North East Thailand in Issan Province, 450kms from Bangkok, Tina learnt her skills in preparing the best of local Thai dishes from her Mother. Living in a rural community there was always plenty of fresh vegetables, spices and herbs in the local farmer’s markets to experiment with and create some amazing taste sensations.

Now into her 6th year running Sugarcane Thai, Tina continues to impress her growing number of regular customers with her knowledge and care in preparing some of Thailand's exotic dishes. Together with Thai chef Nick, Tina regularly upgrades her menu with a combination of all-time favorites and traditional tastes of North East Thailand.
