More about Stawell Amateur Athletic Club

The Stawell Amateur Athletic Club is a friendly, family oriented group of people who love to get together once a week to experience the great outdoors, while at the same time having fun and keeping fit.

We come in all ages, sizes and running abilities.
Ages range from 5 to 70 years.
The Club was formed in 1966 and has a current membership of about 50 active members, with a permanent clubroom at North Park, Stawell.

The Club's cross country running season is from April through to September, with the opening run being held on the first Saturday after Easter. The Club meets each Saturday at 1.30pm with races scheduled to start at 2.00pm.

The majority of the cross country events are held in and around Stawell through the picturesque ironbark forest, as well as at Halls Gap, Dadswells Bridge and three at Horsham.

There are 3 levels of competitors, seniors, juniors and sub-juniors, with club members competing for weekly trophies, as well as accumulating points towards a yearly aggregate trophy for both handicap and scratch events.

All races are handicapped and run over various distances, with most senior races from 3km to 10km in length, juniors from 2km to 5km, and from 1km to 2km for sub-juniors.

Non club members are most welcome to participate in races as well as the very “social” post race wind down (good company, good food!) after each race.
