SPHCM School of Public Health and Community Medicine UNSW Australia

The School of Public Health and Community Medicine (SPHCM) specialises in research, teaching and action to promote health, prevent disease and strengthen health systems within Australia and internationally. Our programs include the Master of Public Health, Master of International Public Health, Master of Health Management, dual masters programs and PhD and higher degree research programs.

Our courses are designed to be applied, practical, and relevant to the workforce. We provide flexible learning opportunities with face-to-face and distance options, as well as a mix of short courses and semester long courses. In this way our courses appeal to a wide variety of students including undergraduates moving to the next level, post-graduates returning to study and professionals up-skilling and looking for career-defining qualifications both in Australia and overseas.

The School has five flagship research areas, each of which has dedicated staff and students: global health, primary care, infectious diseases, Indigenous health and social science. The School has a vibrant and active research culture, evidenced in the activities of the research students and academic staff and the track record of high impact publications, successful history of research grants, and the transdisciplinary backgrounds and experience of academic, research and conjoint staff.
