Welcome to Specialist Driving Operations, this page is designed to motivate people to consider attending a safe horse float towing & defensive driver training program.
Unfortunately many drivers who tow floats, caravans etc, have never attended a course and are unaware of the law, trailer/float limitations and tow vehicle capabilities.
It's not enough to state "I have been driving/towing for years and never had an incident or crash".
I like to use the statement "you can't know what you don't know".
To operate an articulated vehicle without any form of post license driver training is irresponsible to yourself, passengers, other road users and not to mention your pride and joy which is unrestrained in the float.
Most horses which are difficult to load are not afraid of the float but what the float may represent. Horses can not reason but they can associate; an unpleasant journey results in a very anxious horse, which then results in a very anxious driver. Not a great combination.

Attending a program with Specialist Driving Operations (SDO) will provide you with the all the knowledge and increased awareness to tow and manoeuvre safely in a variety of conditions.

You will also be in safe hands. I have delivered post license defensive, 4WD, gravel and towing courses and clinics for 16 years to Government organisations including the Tasmania Fire Service & Queensland Ambulance, delivered training to private organisations, small business and the public.

The programs I provide can be tailored to suit your needs and budget.
A 2 - 3 hour clinic with a group of 5 participants will only cost $50 per person and is a great start to becoming a low risk and responsible driver.
