My Candle journey

My fascination and love for candles started from my earliest years. The place of worship I attended as a child was always adorned with candles. So for me candles remind me of a spirit of reflection, tranquillity, serenity, beauty, safeness and peace. My attraction to candles is to the simple concepts of light being able to guide the way and light expelling the darkness.

While travelling in my university holidays I always loved being close to nature and taking in the beautiful scenery and smells along the way.
After School I completed a Bachelor of Business and worked in accounting for five years. In the background I was still thinking of candles! I completed my first candle making course in 2007 and started experimenting with candle making. For me it started as a hobby.

Soon after that I met the love of my life. We got married a year later. The irony is that I ended up marrying an electrician! We have since been blessed with four beautiful daughters. We now have four girls under six! The smells have definitely changed from my single days! The new smells consisted of dirty nappies, a basket full of laundry, the dishwasher and my husband’s high intensity workouts.

Suddenly I found myself feeling inspired again. I recently decided to start doing something about the smells! I decided I was going to do what I always loved and enjoyed doing. I enrolled and completed another candle making course. I have since been working on a collection of hand poured soy candles. I use them in my own home to neutralise those aforementioned odours and have only used the finest ingredients with the environment and clean burning in mind. They have been tested, tried and loved by my family and friends. They have encouraged and supported me to take this hobby to the next level, so I dedicate this collection of Soy Candles to them.

My collection of soy candles have been inspired by my childhood experiences, my travels, my young family and nature. From my family to yours, I truly hope you enjoy these beautiful candles. I trust they will leave you feeling calm and relaxed. May they light your way.
