Chris and Angela Metcalfe established Southwest Trailers in 2003 in Wagga Wagga to manufacture trailers to customer requirements.

Southwest Trailers make and sell a complete range of trailers for specific and general applications, from 6*4 box trailers to tool tops, camper trailers, stock crates, motor bikes, horse floats and up to 4.5 tonne heavy duty trailers.
Southwest Trailers is a family business that has been established for 6 years with Chris Metcalfe running the workshop with the help of his father, Peter and Chris' wife Angela running administration.

Chris says "Southwest Trailers specialty is custom made trailers, particularly for tradesmen and farmers. We have the experience and capability to make quality trailers for specialised purposes and to meet the customers' specific needs."
Chris said that word of mouth amongst tradesmen was working well for them. Tradesmen appreciate the quality tool tops and the ability they have to make them just how they need them for their specific job and the way they work.

Priding themselves on custom building the highest standard trailers for the tradesman, camper and the farmer, the staff at Southwest Trailers carry out all custom orders at the Bomen Road workshop Wagga Wagga.

Southwest Trailers encourage a friendly relationship with their clients, who are invited to inspect their orders throughout the building process.

Chris says that he has found in recent times that, "For farmers, trailers have become a lower cost means of carting materials and stock rather than a dedicated truck." In fact, recently Southwest Trailers donated a stock crate to Mt Austin High School's agricultural department. Being an integral part of the community, and putting something back into it, is important to Chris and Angela. "We have donated trailers to a range of charities and worthwhile causes" says Angela. "We see it as part of our role in the community to support worthy organisations."
